Relationship between Health Information Literacy Level and Health Management Behavior : A Focus on Patients with Diabetes

Abstract
Objectives: This study analyzed the relationship between health information literacy level and health management behavior among 14,196 adults aged 19 or older using data from the 2021 Community Health Survey.

Methods: This study used SPSS 27.0 to conduct cross-analysis and linear regression analysis to investigate the relationship and influence between health information literacy level and health management behavior.

Results: The findings of this study revealed that there was a statistically significant influence on diabetes management education if the medical staff's explanation or written health information was perceived as difficult as well as the number of glycated hemoglobin tests, eye examination experience, and detailed urine test experience.

Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop various educational materials, improve treatment methods for effective communication, and prepare customized health policies.
